Stitched Christmas Cards

Hi everyone!  In a previous post, I featured a stitched card and mentioned that I would post more as I made them.  Stitching takes time and although I've been stitching whenever I can find free time, I haven't been as successful in completing them as quickly as I intend to.  Today I have two cards for you.

1st Card:

2nd Card:

For the 1st card, I used Paper Smooches Cross Stitch Die to die cut a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White. (I mentioned in an earlier post, I prefer to use the heavier weight cardstock for this so the paper is more sturdy for stitching, with 110lb weight.) I die cut it large enough to fit a 4 x 5 1/4 white cardstock, leaving the bottom with some white space for the greeting.  I created a pattern and stitched the paper with Christmas color floss: green, red, white. Then I die cut the word "Christmas" from the Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Holiday Die three times in black cardstock.  I glued the three pieces together for thickness.  I also stamped the words "Joy & Love" from the Wonderful Words Holiday Stamp Set on the bottom before adhering the word "Christmas" on top of it. I placed all of it on a red cardstock base and finished off the card with some red and green jewels, which I applied with Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive.

For the 2nd card, I again used the Paper Smooches Cross Stitch Die to die cut a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White cardstock, but I only die cut the middle of the white cardstock, a much smaller space than the first card.  I again used Christmas colored floss to stitch a pattern.  I stamped the poinsettia image from the Year of the Flowers: Poinsettias Stamp Set in Versamark ink and embossed it in gold embossing powder and then water colored the image with some water color paints from my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Set. Then I hand cut the image.  I also stamped the sentiment "Happy Holidays" from the Vintage Ornaments II Stamp Set on vellum and heat embossed it in white opaque embossing powder before cutting it.  I added the poinsettia and the sentiment on the stitched cardstock and adhered it to a Pure Poppy pattern paper.  Everything was placed on a Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White cardbase.

Thanks for stopping in! I hope you enjoy my stitched cards today.  If you're interested in purchasing some cards, please visit my Etsy Shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/KersiaKreations
